Towards the sea

And while having passed Skradinski Buk, the River Krka becomes calmer, wider, slower and approaches nearer to the sea do not forget – the sea is not just water, so don’t call it that!

For to do so would be offensive to the inhabitants of the sea coast; to them the carefully pronounced word sea carries a certain sense of respect towards the magical big blue.

And maybe the fish know it too. Swimming downstream along the cold River Krka, they feel where the sea begins. Who knows?
But it’s not so important really because Krka has brought us to the point where the river embraces the sea, to the town of Skradin, whose streets we have already visited.

If we push off from the Skradin quayside towards the sea, the waves will first take us to Lake Prukljansko.
11 square kilometers of the so-called lake actually represent an unusual combination of sea/salt water and river/fresh water which apparently suits everyone – the numerous bird species living in Nature Park Guduća, the shell-farmers en route towards the proud town of Šibenik, but also the numerous sailors and Skradin gastronomy lovers joyfully sailing towards the town of Skradin.
